What happens when a woman is a victim of rape, can the pregnancy be terminated?
What happens if the same girl was raped by her father, thus became pregnant by incest?
In this article, which is called “When Gods-will, rape and pregnancy collide” the following astonishing statement was made by a 12-year-old-girl hooked on heroin when asked if she knew who raped her.
““She said, ‘Yes, it’s my biological father. He’s the one who hooked me on heroin so he could continue to rape me whenever he wanted to.’ ”
During the 2012 USA presidential election some conservatives (Republican U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock stirred controversy during a debate) said rape is Gods will and no-abortion should be allowed. According to the laws of karma explained in our posts pro-life and pro-choice, pro-life is the best option but not for the same reasons.
The answer lies in reincarnation. Imagine you are born a man once or many times, and during each male-life you inflicted some pain to a woman. According to karma, the pain (with interest) must be returned. So now, you’ve had many lives as a man and then it’s time to be born a woman. What do you think will happen? Of course the karma must be repaid, that is why rape occurs.
It is also the reason we as a society must do everything possible, including eliminating pornography and making sure both men and women are treated equal; in all ways, all over the world.
If we do not break the cycle of treating women badly, rape will continue. Karma says “as you sow, so shall you reap” or “do onto others as you would have them do onto you”.
What is right in this case?
This is the contentious issue. We cannot make hard and fast laws, there is always a need for flexibility. Even though spiritually it is the girls karma that has inflicted so much suffering on her, we as a society cannot turn our heads in judgement and deny her help.
On an individual basis, the decision must be made by qualified doctors on what to do. In general, pro-life is the right-choice. If the victim of rape has support then no-abortion with adoption is the best choice. If she became pregnant by incest, then there may be a case for abortion.
Republican Todd Akin and The Case for “Legitimate Rape”
The beauty about free speech is that every now and again we get some real beauties! Rep. Akin (BTW – he is not alone) suggests a woman’s reproductive-engine shuts down during rape so they cannot become pregnant, and if they do get pregnant then republicans say its legitimate rape. Well, not sure when politicians have become medical experts but his comments do prove one-thing. Conservatives base their arguments more on brain-washing than on facts.
While spiritualism agrees with pro-life, which happens to be mentioned in bible as “thou shall not kill”, it does so based on the welfare of the pregnant woman more than the unborn child. Long-term, the consciousness of the woman will lessened due terminating a life. Even though she may endure great suffering in her current life by having the child, at least it’s just one life. The spiritual cost of abortion can be many, many lives.
On the surface it appears the child suffers more, after all it is killed. But that is not the case, the lord of karma will arrange another birth for the soul which was killed.
